Allegretto Orchestra
The Allegretto Orchestra is the elementary orchestra level in the MYSO family and is a place where young musicians take their next steps. Students in this orchestra usually have 1-2 years experience studying their instrument. Classes build on the foundation established in the beginner stage; putting notes, posture and bowing techniques such as spicata (bouncing bow) and staccato (short, detached notes) in to practice while also learning to play in a group orchestral setting. Students are introduced to a wider range of musical pieces incorporating new rhythms, key signatures, and musical styles.
Allegretto Program Includes:
9:00 - 9:30 Music Safari - Exploring Rhythm and Sound
9:30 - 10:00 Instrumental Sectionals - Personalized attention & growth based on their particular instrument.
10:15 - 11:15 General Orchestral Rehearsal - Students join with their peers to learn the art of playing together
