What to Expect:

Brass Ensemble is designed for middle / high school students who have moved beyond the beginner level and are ready to deepen their ensemble and technical playing skills.

Students must audition for this group.

Traditional Brass Quartet instruments: Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone & Tuba.

Confidence in playing individual parts

Balance and dynamics across instrument sections

Intonation and blend within a group setting

Introduction to varied musical styles and repertoire

Led by professional musicians and experienced educators who provide individual and group coaching.

Students are integrated into the full Mississippi Youth Symphony Orchestra, allowing them to collaborate with string, woodwinds, and percussion players in a full-orchestra experience.

Participate in multiple performances throughout the season in a variety of venues across the local area and throughout the state, gaining valuable real-world performance experience.
