Program Highlights

Skill Development: Technique and control on a variety of percussion instruments (snare, bass drum, timpani, mallet instruments, auxiliary percussion, and more).

Musicianship: Reading rhythms and complex time signatures.

Ensemble Training: Listening, blending, and performing as part of a group.
What Students Experience

Explore a wide range of styles including classical, contemporary, world music, and more.

Receive expert instruction and individualized coaching from professional percussionists.

Collaborate with strings and winds in the Mississippi Youth Symphony Orchestra, gaining full-orchestra experience.

Perform in multiple concerts each season across the local area and throughout the state.
